Looking for an amazing summer camp for your child? Camp KPTA 2024 is open for sign-up now! Summer camp runs from June 3oth to August 22nd. Weekly price is only $650 per week, with a minimum of 2 weeks required to sign up. Camp hours are 8 am - 5pm. Have to work? We also offer extended pickup 8am - 5:30pm for only $50 a week. COVID CONSCIOUS
Due to the coronavirus, we’ve switched up our approach to summer camp! Instead of having your kids navigate the public subway system and be amongst the crowds of kids at every summer event in NYC, we’re getting away from the city! Everyday your child will have a blast while staying safe at our beautiful Harriman State Park property.
Campers will board a KPTA bus, this bus will not be used by any other individuals this summer. The property we will be using for all camp activities is exclusive to KPTA. No other campers will be on the premises, so there’s no chance of outside contamination. On site we have a EMT certified nurse, so you can be sure we are well prepared for any event! As summer approaches, we will pay follow CDC guidelines and add any protocol necessary to keep our children safe.
WEEKLY UPDATES
Every week, guardians will receive an email that details what your child will need for the week. We’ll give a brief rundown of the week and spotlight a few exciting activities. We will be sure to always include the drop-off / pick-up location for your convenience.
SMALL GROUPS
Our family sized cohorts give children individualized attention. Not many camps can match our staff to student ratio of 1:8! No group will have more than 10 campers.

“Our 11-year-old son, Kgari, attended 4 summer programs last year. FOUR. He resented one, loved another, hated the other, and he THRIVED at Kids Passport for Adventure! I am sending this email because, I believe in it! If you're looking for a great experience for your child this summer, try this camp! I'm pretty sure you'll love it too!”

AGE RANGE
The age range of our campers is 4-14.
Will my child be hanging out with campers much younger or older than them? No!
We split campers into small family-sized cohorts, with no more than 10 kids in every group. Each group will be comprised of campers around the same age, with usually only a 1-3 year difference between the youngest member and the oldest.
SWIMMING
Everyday, your adventurer will have the chance to cool down in our beautiful lake. We have a certified lifeguard on the premises to keep everyone safe. There are 2 options for swimmers. For beginners, we have natural pools built into the lake with a depth of about 3.5 feet. Comfortable swimmers have access to the lake within a roped off area. All campers participate in a test prior to swimming to determine the best fit!

Is there a deposit required?
Yes, there is $100 non-refundable deposit required to hold your place when you register. This deposit will be applied towards your balance. The adventure must be paid in full before your child’s start date.
What is your refund policy?
You must notify us 2 weeks in advance for a full refund (not including the non-refundable deposit). This is because we are holding a space for your child, if they do not come, we need enough time to offer their space to another interested camper.
If you notify us less than 2 weeks in advance, your balance can be applied towards another KPTA adventure.
If you have any specific concerns, feel free to email us!
What is camp price?
Only $650 per week.
Payment plans are available. Scholarships are also available and rewarded on a rolling basis.
Early bird discount: Sign up before March 20th, and pay only $605 per week! (2 week minimum)
Is there a minimum amount of weeks to sign my child up for?
Yes, to foster a strong sense of comfort and routine, we require a minimum of 2 weeks for enrollment.
Does my child have to sign up for the whole summer? Can my child start later in the summer or finish early?
As long as you sign your child up for the minimum amount of 2 weeks, they can begin or end their KPTA summer camp experience any week of your choosing. You are free to add on weeks as you go. As long as we’re not fully booked, you will be accepted to our camp! Please note, first timers sign up for 2 weeks “just to see how it is” and their kids have so much fun that they usually sign up for the rest of the summer. This means, around the end of June, the rest of our summer quickly sells out. Please plan in advance!
Do I have to sign up for consecutive (back-to-back) weeks?
We strongly recommend that your child attend the first two weeks consecutively. If you’d like to add on weeks throughout the summer, that’s fine! A camper who would like to do the Fire Island week must attend the week before, no exceptions.
Are there any discounts for enrolling more than 1 child?
If you have more than 1 child you are enrolling and are looking for a sibling discount, please email us at kidspassporttoadventure@gmail.com
What is the daily schedule?
Everyday is different! On Mondays, each group decides what they would like to do that week. We think giving our campers the opportunity to create their own schedule builds leadership skills and makes the activities much more fun and rewarding! Some of the activities the children will enjoy during the week are: Beach trips, drum circles, hiking, canoeing, waterpark trips, gardening, fishing (catch & release), music lessons, tie-dyeing, meeting animals, science experiments, trips to sky zone, sports, cooking lessons, camp carnival, kayaking, scavenger hunts, special guests… we could go on and on. Beyond these awesome activities, your child will go swimming everyday.
Are there scholarships or financial aid?
Our goal is to make it possible for every child to have amazing experiences. As a small not-for-profit organization with limited funds, we try to be as generous as possible for families with severe financial issues by providing financial aid. If you would like to apply please be prepared to provide proof of income. Email us at: kidspassporttoadventure@gmail.com
Is this a sleepover camp?
No, everyday our KPTA bus will transport your child to and from our property in Harriman State Park. We offer 1 weeklong sleepover option to fire island, and 1 weeklong sleepover option at our upstate campsite. Those dates will be available soon!
What does my child need to bring?
Please pack a NUT-FREE lunch, water bottle (we’re an eco-conscious group), bathing suit, towel, and appropriate water shoes. We’ll bring the smiles and the fun!
Where is the pick-up / drop-off location?
